“Aderlating” by EVERY STRANGER LOOKS LIKE YOU and “Deutscher Sommer” by MAHLSTROM come from the bands’ upcoming split record, to be released this summer through Flood Records (BE), Through Love Records (DE), Lala Schallplatten (DE), My Name Is Jonas (AT)! Spiced up with a classy artwork by Micha from schwarzer.rand, the recording brings in a bit darker approach by both parties, resulting in a melancholic, yet very powerful mood throughout. Check out both videos, listen to their older releases below and stay tuned for more info on the split very soon!
Lyrics:
Kiss the wound
Numb my spine
I am on my knees
Begging for my life
And nothing’s ever free
When you love a leech
Can’t let the weight of this heart
Be the death of me.Fuck this. Fuck you.
If love was never meant for me, I will reign in misery.
The bands will hit European roads in the end of August for a ten day release tour:

About both bands:
Mahlstrom is four-piece from Stuttgart, germany. Not really influenced by the modern hardcore genre, they play straight forward but melodic, sometimes carrying hardcore music, which commemorates the sound of 90s german hardcore bands. With emotional and political lyrics Mahlstrom forces the listener to a point of self reflection. It’s mostly not about negative things in life, but much more about doing it right or at least trying. In four years as a band Mahlstrom released two EPs called “Heimwärts” (2011) and “Nach dem Stillstand” (2013). Now they teamed up with Every Stranger Looks Like You from Belgium to release a Split in July 2015.
Every Stranger Looks Like You is a 3 piece grunge/hardcore band based in Brakel. Their debut EP “Cursed Soul/Golden Heart” was received with a wide array of positive reviews, and word of their strong live performances quickly spread and got them to play a lot of shows with bands such as Bass Drum Of Death (US), Listener (US), Hotel Books (US), Goodtime Boys (UK), The Cold Harbour (UK), Hindsights (UK) and many more. After having toured Germany and played numerous shows in Belgium the self proclaimed “$ludge Megazord” released their second effort, “Life In The Abyss”, teaming up again with Carl Saff (Touché Amoré, Suis La Lune, Self Defense Family,…) for mastering.
Idioteq.com described the album as sounding “fresh and amazing”, and a few months later ESLLY got to open for Code Orange’s sold out show in Londen. “De Morgen”, one of Belgium’s biggest news papers, said their live performance is “…a crushing half hour. As filthy as the dishwater in a college bar, as sharp and stinging as a well placed comparison. If this is ‘the shape of punk to come’, I’ll have one punk membership, please.”
2015 will bring their heaviest hitting release to date and a summer tour across Europe. Every Stranger Looks Like You is, more than anything else, 3 friends who, united by their passion for weed and ponies, can’t seem to grow up.
