Central Massachusetts Hardcore outfit WISDOM & WAR are back their pummeling new single “Can’t Stop Me” featuring Aaron Knuckles of Death Threat. You can stream the song here. The track will appear on their upcoming album Superior Design due out January 6th on Unbeaten Records. Wisdom & War join label mates D Bloc, Wrong Move, Regrown and more as one of the strongest new voices in hardcore and a powerful addition to the Unbeaten Records lineup.
“Can’t Stop Me” will sound familiar to fans of modern acts like Code Orange and Vein, but is all together original in its approach. The new track was produced in part by Hardcore legend Don Fury (Agnostic Front, YOT, Warzone, etc). Wisdom & War represent CMHC with an undeniable style influenced by nu-metal and hip hop along with classic heavy hardcore, and has the guts to do it their way. The songs angular guitar riffs weave in and out of a frenetic groove, underscored by ferocious vocals courtesy of lead singer Chanel. The song inspires a sense of dread that we have no doubt will translate into violence on the dance floor, incorporating explosive electronic moments and breakdowns perfect for the pit. Aaron Knuckles of the legendary CTHC group Death Threat bridges the gap between old and new school with a formidable vocal feature that passes the torch to this next generation of hardcore musicians.
The band has this to say about their new single and working with producer Don Fury: “‘Can’t Stop Me’ is about knowing your worth, and not giving a fuck about the naysayers or limitations that life throws at you. Knowing that no matter what, you’re going to die some day so you might as well give everything you have right here and now. Getting Aaron [Knuckles] on the track was huge for us, but we had to meet up halfway to record his vocals. So thanks to Buddy [Armstrong] at Unbeaten Records, we were introduced to Hardcore legend Don Fury in Troy, NY where we recording Aaron’s feature. Don’s studio is really like stepping into hardcore history. He’s recorded legendary bands like Madball, Gorilla Biscuits, Sick Of It All, Agnostic Front, and so many more. It was a great experience working with both Don and Aaron. Two guys that have really put so much time into hardcore. It was unreal, and an honor.
