MONT-DORÉ – “No Place Like Home” video premiere!

May 26, 2014
2 mins read

I am very proud to premiere the first ever music video from Brussels’ MONT-DORÉ, who have been exploring various musical territories between post rock, post-harcore and screamo for some time now. The band has already shared the stage with acts such as CELESTE, BIRDS IN ROW and OLD SOUL and now is about to hit the roads of Germany, Slovakia, Hungary, Switzerland, Slovenia and perform at this year’s Fluff Fest!

The track “No Place Like Home” is only available on the vinyl edition of the band’s first EP and is based on images gathered during the French tour the band completed in January 2014. It was compiled by the local video collective “Untitled Structure” and now you have a perfect chance to watch it and read up an exclusive commentary from the band’s singer Paul (see below).

MONT DORE

Sometimes you’ve got to let the sweetest things go. And it hurts. Because you can’t take any better decisions. Time is passing by, and you discover yourself a better and deeper human being. And you smile at the irony it all. “No Place Like Home” talk about this. It’s a sad and happy (self) love song.

The video is a complex and (nearly) organised flux of footages captured during our shows and journeys. It can be seen as a summary of our first year of music as Mont-Doré. It is all about meeting cool people, and making every night count. The intention was to create something dense and physical. Something, full stop.

“No Place Like Home” is an extra track from our first EP “Escalades”. Released on Black Basset Records. As a summer gift : you can get it for free for one week on http://montdore.bandcamp.com/ (Or pay what you want, hey!).

We’re currently working hard on a whole new EP. Rehearsals after rehearsals. There’s no release date at the moment. We plan to test some new songs during the shows to come. On your good self if possible. We’re quite excited about those new creations. Playing live is actually what we enjoy the most. That red&black space and the physical contact with human beings is precious to all of us.

Talking about gigs, we will play a few more shows in Belgium before the summer before hitting the road through some beautiful countries (Germany, Czech Republic, Hungary, Austria and Switzerland). Some slots are still available (07/28, 07/30 & 08/01). Do not hesitate to drop us a mail, we would love to come and visit you : [email protected] Love to you all.

Mont-Doré official bio / press kit 2014:

Brussels-based MONT-DORE is a Belgian « all-star band » featuring members of Thot, Hurt Them Back, Prairie and Serious Kids. The band gathered around a manifesto, as they describe it, concerning violence and peace in the act of climbing sensibilities. Expect a mind-blowing demonstration of unrestricted screamo/postrock/hardcore talent.

“Let’s say we are just searching to enjoy a view. It’s all about sweet tension and violence. Expressing the more with deep shouts and the rest. And finally, raising flags on top of things we really care about.”

Escalades EP, the first recorded effort of Mont-Doré was recorded in love and raw conditions in Brussels.

Released as a digital 5-tracks EP on 22/8/2013 (release party in Brussels with BIRDS IN ROW)

Released on vinyl (250 red copies, 50 black copies) on 7/12/2013

They have played with: Birds In Row, Celeste, Tiger Magic, We Came Out Like Tigers, Barren Womb, Siamese Queens, Death Engine, ZZZs, Fights And Fires and many more.

European tour – summer 2014 with AUGURES (Belgium, Germany, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Austria, Italy and France)
