Moving Mountains

The band Setting The Woods On Fire will be supporting Moving Mountains on the American group’s upcoming European tour, which kicks off in late May. This will be Moving Mountains’ first trip to Europe as a headlining act and their first ever performance in Poland – one eagerly awaited by fans of post rock and post hardcore in the vein of The Appleseed Cast and Thrice. The members of Setting The Woods On Fire happen to be fans themselves, and the Warsaw-based band is proud to be opening for Moving Mountains throughout the Polish leg of their tour.
The two young acts certainly have a few things in common: freshness, energy, grinding guitars and catchy melodies, and – above all else – a powerful emotional charge. How will both bands sound side by side in one evening? We’ll find out this June when the two groups team up for a tour of Poland:

05.06 Cracow | 06.06 Warsaw | 07.06 Poznan | 08.06 Tczew

STWOF’s latest release, the Ruins EP, has garnered nothing but rave reviews and is considered a “small pearl of contemporary Polish guitar music” (L. Kaminski, Gazeta Wyborcza), while Big Cheese Mag has hailed STWOF as “the most exciting post hardcore band around.” Known for their powerful live performances, the Warsaw-based group have performed at numerous festivals and alongside such acts as Cancer Bats (CAN), Vera Cruz (FR), Wooden Shjips (USA), We Are The Ocean (UK) i Silverstein (CAN). The band is slated to head back into the studio this fall to work on their new full-length album.

“This is a truly varied and great EP, with intruige held all the way. I expect great things from these guys.5/5” tophatmagazine.com

“This release is very modern yet it takes me back to the mid to late ’90’s. I hear Jazz June, Sunny Day Real Estate and Glassjaw all through this and yet it kinda sucks to have to comparisons. STWOF are their own band. (..) The most miraculous thing about this band is the fact that I believe they are a trio. They put out a very intense and thick sound for being three people.” / brutalcontrol

“(..) they’re putting more energy into the songwriting, which covers a wider range of emotions – from the somber and chilled out angle that was most prominent on their debut to both catchier and more aggressive moments herein. It’s great to see the band showing signs of progression and starting to garner more attention, and I’m once again looking forward to hearing more…” / aversionline.com
