Last Saturday, Northcote Festival took place at Energiehuis in Dordrecht (NL). It was the third edition of the annual hardcore festival, which doubled in size compared to last year. Twenty-three bands shared two stages in the span of ten hours. The international amosphere characterized this years festival; there were bands from the United States, Scotland, Wales, Denmark, Italy and Poland, and 300 visitors traveled to The Netherlands from Belgium, Germany and France. Itโs the perfect new standard for future editions according to the organization:
โLast year was the first sold out edition of Northcote Festival. In our eyes, the amosphere was so perfect that it seemed hard to recreate that same vibe in this new venue,โ says organizer Patrick Batenburg. โHowever, Northcote Festival 2014 was amazing and it beat last year on each level! We couldnโt have done it without all the visitors, bands and organizations, so a major thanks goes out to all of them. Iโm still perplexed at just how good this years edition was.โ
Both local and international acts made a good impression at Northcote Festival 2014.DEATHTRAPย from Rotterdam opened up the fest, followed by locals RUN LIKE HELL, PANTAHAND, CLEARxPATH. FORSAKENย from Wales impressed at the Talent Stage, as well as local bandย HAWSERย and RISK IT!ย from Germany.ย REDEMPTION DENIEDย started a promising set which was put to a hold after the first song, when a visitor got seriously injured. After a check-up in the hospital, he was released with minor bruises.ย
WOLF DOWN from Germany took over the Power Stage after Redemption Denied finished their set and received great interaction from the audience. CODE ORANGE KIDSย andย TWITCHING TONGUESย from the United States co-headlined Northcote Festival 2014, and treated the crowd with shows that they wonโt easily forget.
