NYHC band COMBUST call out fakes on new single “Everyone’s Enemy”

1 min read

New York hardcore band Combust dropped a new single titled “Everyone’s Enemy” today—a blunt take on the insincerity that can plague the scene.

The track punches through with bouncing rhythms, shredding guitars, and a vocal delivery built for shouting. Vocalist Andrew Vacante declares, “I don’t need the validation that you seek. I want to be everybody’s enemy.”

Vacante expands on the song’s lyrics: “People are too quick to shake everyone’s hands and be friends even if it means compromising their morals or beliefs, especially in hardcore if they are trying to just use people as a stepping stone or ladder for some pipe dream of fame they aspire to reach. It’s hard to tell who’s genuine or who wants to be your friend anymore. It’s all fake smiles and waves. I’ve always been first to speak my mind no matter who is hurt by the things I say…that isn’t a corny attempt at shock value, I just point it out because I feel people are too scared to give their honest opinion on anything anymore. Might not be the best advice on how to naviagate your life but that’s just how it is to me.”

“Everyone’s Enemy” leads into Combust’s second album and fourth release, Belly of the Beast, set for release on March 7 through Triple B Records.

Recorded with Zach Miller at Landmine Studios, the 12-track record rides unique grooves and pulsating riffs, bolstered by a tough vocal delivery. The record features guests from Terror, Mindforce, Crown Of Thornz, Dmize, Imposter, and rapper Rome Streetz, underscoring a community-driven ethos.

Fans can stream “Everyone’s Enemy” immediately and preorder Belly of the Beast on vinyl through Triple B Records. Album artwork and download assets are available as part of the release campaign.

A record release show is scheduled for March 29 in Brooklyn, NY at Gold Sounds with support from Illusion, Burning Lord, Bazooka, Fatal Realm, and All 4 All. Combust will also hit the stage at several festivals later this year:

• April 5–6 – Atlanta, GA @ House Of Disorder
• April 11–12 – Richmond, VA @ United Blood
• April 25–26 – Louisville, KY @ LDB Fest
• May 31 & June 1 – Detroit, MI @ Tied Down

Combust consists of Andrew Vacante (vocals), Peter Martingano (guitar), Alex Basovskiy (guitar), Dave Sarnes (drums), and Eric Hoyt (bass).
