Pennsylvania’s quintet, INNER TURMOIL (featured on IDIOTEQ in December), have released their first single and video for “Complex Control”, off their upcoming release, “Raised Through Aggression“, out on August 28th via Blood Blast Distribution (Nuclear Blast) and Upstate Records.
James Holijes (vocalist), “Have you ever had that one person just push you too far, to the point that you can’t control all your pent up anger and rage, that you finally snap and want to hurt them by any means necessary? Well that’s what this song is about!”
Inner Turmoil is a quintet hailing from Pennsylvania’s State Capital, Harrisburg. Getting their start as a studio project to celebrate the third sobriety anniversary date of drummer Jeff Zalesak, Inner Turmoil quickly began to make their mark on the infamous PAHC scene that is known for producing such heavy hitters as Wisdom In Chains, Strength For A Reason and Clubber Lang.
Inner Turmoil draws inspiration from the struggles they have battled and the challenges they have overcame. Inner Turmoil epitomizes the fight of the underdog. Never looking for a handout, they take control and win their fans over with their love and conviction for the music they produce. They sing and play from the heart. Clearly carrying the torch of the true meaning of hardcore. Inner Turmoil is as real as it gets.
Their first official release, “Trapped At Birth” was independently released with distribution support from Australian label, 10-54 Records. “Trapped At Birth” quickly put Inner Turmoil on the international hardcore map with distribution in Europe, Japan, Australia and of course, the US. However, with roots deep into the US hardcore scene, Inner Turmoil found a home with Upstate Records in early 2020.
Coming up for Inner Turmoil is their follow-up release, “Raised Through Aggression”, a five song EP that hits harder and deeper than “Trapped At Birth”.
“Raised Through Aggression” was recorded, mixed and mastered by Hayden John Calhoun at Darkside Audio.
