Pennsylvania’s grunge-gazers GLOOMER share “Embrace The End” on Friend Club Records

1 min read

Pennsylvania’s grunge-gazers, Gloomer, have just served up their latest offering, “Embrace The End,” launched under the banner of Friend Club Records. Behind the album’s impeccable engineering and production is Dave Alcan, who’s got creds working alongside Jay Maas, known for Defeater and Love Letter.

Gloomer, brainchild of Bill Karachristos and Josh Marshall, sprouted in 2020. Initially, they toyed with the idea of releasing just a handful of songs penned by Karachristos.

But as fate would have it, the addition of Addison Steele and Aaron Bromley transformed this duo into a full-fledged band. Their music oozes influences from the ’90s – think alternative meets shoegaze. The result? An ethereal mix of guitar brilliance juxtaposed with punchy rhythms.

“Embrace The End” is a musical journey into the soul, where ethereal sounds weave together in harmonious unity, carrying an intimacy and warmth that feels like a gentle embrace on an autumn evening or a walk through fall leaves under the city lights or even beyond its borders, truly transporting to a magical place, seamlessly merging elements of alternative rock with shoegaze. Simply breathtaking.

Bill Karachristos, the voice behind Gloomer, commented on one of the new tracks, saying that “’Feel Again‘ holds a special place for me. It mirrors my personal dread of witnessing the end of others and encapsulates the daily façade I put up, hiding my anxieties from the world. This track felt just right the moment the band got their hands on it.”
