After releasing 2 previous LPs, Polish blackened post-metal horde HEGEMONE are back with an incredibly ambitious work, shaping their already bleak and oppressive sound into something even more grandiose, desperate and terrifying.
“Voyance”, their third full length offering, comes as an incredibly inspired album, conjuring suffering and a sense of calamity by carefully combining gloomy and gelid Black Metal with the savegery of hardcore and the heaviness of sludge: Folk instruments, electronic frequencies and freezingly cold riffs are all placed inside a massively dissonant wall of sound, creating a truly unique sonic nightmare.
Today, we’re stoked to give you another taste off of the album, the new track called “Odium”!
For fans of: Cult of Luna, White Ward, Conjurer, Downfall of Gaia
Hegemone are: Jakub Witkowski – Bass/Vocals, Kacper Jachimowicz – Guitar, Tomasz Stanuch – Keyboard/Noise, Tomasz Towpik – Drums
“Odium” captures the feeling of void caused by the concept of a world with no god. The sadness of the vision where religions and prayers are only songs for the dead, taking our consciousness away from the fact that death is the actual end of our existence.
Produced by Kim Teglund, recorded at MAQ Records & Sore Sounds by Kim Teglund, and mixed and mastered by Kim Teglund at Sore Sounds, “Voyance” features original artwork, layout and artistic direction by Evokaos (Brucia Records). The album comes as titanically heavy album, building a monumental and uncompromising architecture of rage, tension, disquiet and pain. “Abeyance”, another new track from “Voyance” was revealed earlier this summer, and you can heck it out below.
