Chicago-based band, Belmont, has just released their latest single ‘SSX Trickmont‘. This comes in the wake of their previous record ‘Aftermath’, which received commendable remarks from Rock Sound, labeling them as a potential leading figure in the pop-punk genre.
Belmont, originating from the expansive suburbs of Chicago, presents a unique blend of musical styles, ranging from pop-punk to jazz fusion, hip-hop, and even math rock.
The band, consisting of Taz Johnson (vocals), Brian Lada (who multitasks on drums, guitar, and programming), and Jason Inguagiato (guitar), started their journey as high school friends. Their early works, the 2016 EP ‘Between You & Me’ and the 2018 self-titled album, introduced them to a broader audience, with the latter even securing the No. 2 spot on the Billboard Heatseekers and Alternative New Artist Albums charts.
Their album ‘AFTERMATH‘, released under Pure Noise Records, unveils their dynamic and diverse sound palette. Inguagiato and Lada, both alumni of the prestigious Berklee College of Music, have tapped into their formal training, coupled with the group’s innate talent, to produce an album that showcases an array of influences. Collaborating with renowned producer Andrew Wade, the band embarked on a creative journey in the summer of 2021, drawing inspiration from a variety of genres, especially the hip-hop scene.
Jason Inguagiato highlights the collaborative nature of the band, noting that their time in the studio was filled with collective brainstorming and experimentation.
Their music, characterized by a blend of various genres, remains anchored in the pop-punk energy that has earned them a dedicated fanbase, evident from their successful tours alongside bands like Sleeping With Sirens and Grayscale.
