Roadburn Festival

As the spring of 2024 approaches, the anticipation for Roadburn Festival in Tilburg, the Netherlands, reaches new heights with the latest addition of over thirty eclectic names to its lineup. Among them, the festival welcomes the return of Health, set to electrify the stage with their latest album ‘Rat Wars’, and the experimental hip hop group Clipping. who promise a dual experience – one set charged with upbeat, dance-ready tracks and another delving into darker, beat-less rhythms.

Roadburn’s artistic director, Walter Hoeijmakers, expresses his excitement about the lineup reflecting the diverse and innovative underground scene. The festival, running from April 18-21, is not just a music event but a platform for artists to express their multifaceted talents, with several bands performing multiple sets.

Joining the ranks are Kavus Torabi with a specially commissioned project ‘Lion of The Lord’s Elect’, Uboa as artist in residence performing three unique sets, and collaborative pieces like ‘The Ash from Mount Saint Helens‘ by labelmates Ragana and Drowse.

Cult Leader is set to perform ‘A Patient Man’, while Darsombra prepares to blend krautrock with misty soundscapes.

Making their Roadburn debut are bands like Deaf Club and Eye Flys, alongside artists like Forest Swords and Frail Body venturing into Europe for the first time. Austin’s Fuck Money brings their transgressive audio aggression, Full Earth introduces their psychedelic organ-driven sound, and Home Front returns with their synth-driven post-punk.

Newcomers like Sunrise Patriot Motion, Sunrot, and Thantifaxath add to the diverse lineup, and The Bevis Frond returns after many years. Torpor and Use Knife are set to perform their latest works, adding to an already rich tapestry of music.
