Rock’n’roll infused hardcore punks WALK THE PLANK return to Germany for the first time since 2018 with a new bassist and plans for fresh recordings

Washington D.C.’s melodic hardcore outfit Walk the Plank is heading back to Germany this summer, marking their first tour there in seven years. The 10-date run kicks off on July 11th, 2025, in Baldringen at the Saufzeit Festival and wraps up on July 19th in Südwinsen. The band will be hitting venues across the country, including Alte Hackerei in Karlsruhe, Goldgrube in Kassel, and Wild At Heart in Berlin.

This stretch through Germany coincides with the band’s 15th anniversary and follows a string of recent developments. “We have a new bass player. Joey Pappas,” the band shared. Their previous bassist stepped away amicably to focus on his other band, Vosh, which has been increasingly active.

Fans last caught new music from Walk the Plank in early 2024, when they released Loathe through Mt. Crushmore Records—their first fresh material since 2018’s Void Treader. The EP, tracked with Ben Green of Fairweather, marked the studio debut of Zeeshan Shad and John Crum, and expanded the band’s scope both sonically and thematically.

As Ian Crocker explained at the time, “Death, hate, and sadness was everywhere,” capturing the emotional climate that shaped the record. Loathe tackled topics from toxic relationships (“Boredom”) and gun violence (“Good Guy With A Gun?”) to cultural decay via “Anti-Social Media” and even abuse through the metaphor of an abandoned dog in “Dugout.”

Now, Walk the Plank is not just revisiting Europe, but also eyeing new material. “We have begun working on new music and will be planning to hit the studio later this year,” they confirmed. The Germany tour follows their 2024 appearance in Mexico where they shared the stage with Bane.
