THE CALLOUS DAOBOYS share new EP, loads of tour dates coming up

Atlanta’s own, The Callous Daoboys, have graced the music scene with a new EP entitled, “God Smiles Upon The Callous Daoboys.” Released under the dual banners of MNRK Heavy and Modern Static Records, this EP follows their 2022 critically acclaimed album, “Celebrity Therapist.” Recognized for its avant-garde and unpredictable nature, the EP is available for streaming and purchase.

For vinyl enthusiasts, it’s noteworthy to mention that the album will see a limited pressing of 1,000 copies on 12” 45RPM vinyl, split across three distinct variants.

Opening with a cinematic blend of violin in “Pushing the Pink Envelope,” listeners are immediately introduced to a mesh of mathy riffs, playful muzak, and electronic Eurodance breakdowns. The chorus is a nod to the unmistakable power-chord catchiness familiar to fans of Fall Out Boy, yet it retains a raw edge unique to The Callous Daoboys. Carson Pace, the band’s frontman, reflects on the instrumental diversity, noting the ambitious soundscape they’ve explored.

The second track, “Waco Jesus,” bridges crushing heaviness with infectious melodies, showcasing creative riffs and vibrant hooks. Lastly, “Designer Shroud of Turin” stands out as Pace’s personal favorite, blending rap-rock verses with lively saxophone elements and a surprise samba section.

The Callous Daoboys aren’t just stopping at a new release.

They are embarking on a North American tour, supporting bands Protest The Hero and Moon Tooth. The tour will span various cities from Calgary to New Kensington, concluding with a series of headline shows by The Callous Daoboys.

For European fans, 2024 sees the band touring with TesseracT and Unprocessed, covering countries from Luxembourg to Ireland.
