Just 4 Fun Records are streaming an amazing compilation of legendary Killed By Death Records’ bands. “The Inmates Are Running The Asylum” – Best Of K.B.D.Punk 1978-1988 will be available on vinyl, as well. Stay tuned for details.

Here’s the official chaotic word about some of the artists featured in this release:

jim jacobi and the crap detectors-late 70’s nebraska punk band lead by singer/song writer jim jacobi.
their 7 in.”victims of the media”brought national attention to the band in the late 70’s, their track on this compilation”feeling amputee”is from 1983.
jacobi is still recording and has released some best of’s by the band on his own record label.
the outpatients-hailing from western mass.in the early 80’s and featuring the helland brothers the band had a few self released albums and appeared on the highly acclaimed vinyl compilation-bands that could be god in 1984 and a flipside magazine vol.2 comp.album in 1985.
scott helland before the outpatients played bass in legendary band”deep wound’and brother vis played in mace in the early 80’s.
the band did a national tour with battalion of saints in 84′ on top of playing a countless number of other shows.
sharon tates baby-lead by singer/songwriter chris wing this band was out of austin tx. and formed in 1979.no offical releases for s.t.b.but in 1982 chris changed the name of the band to”jerry’s kids’and released the self released ‘what can you say and how long will it take’l.p.
chris wing performs today under the sharon tates baby banner and is still producing new
music.
“mars needs women’is a remastered unreleased track recorded in the 1980-81’time period.
siezure-from the state of ct.existed from 1984 to about 1991.releasing a few albums as well as the 86′ classic 7 in.”all hail the fucking system”released by incas records.
they also appeared on compilation albums released by mystic records from california and incas records ct.
the hates-from houston tx. are one of the pioneering bands in this region starting in the late 70’s.on top of appearing on many compilations in the 1980’s their early self released vinyl on their own “faceless’label includes the panacea album which came out on 1982 and the ‘no talk in the eighties’7 in.released in 1979.
their song”bother’is a remastered unreleased live track from 1978.
the nihilistics from long island n.y. should best be remembered as one of the first “hate’punk bands that spawned the beginning new york hardcore sound.
their self titled l.p.on braineater records in 1983 is a punk classic.they also have a lengthy release catolog on their own visionary label.the band still exists sporadically today.
agent 86′-from arcada ca. did two european tours as well as a heavy gigging schedule in the states.
their first 7 in.came out in 1983 on counterpiece records and a 89’7 in.e.p.released on france’s new wave records”apartheid american style” was produced by d.o.a.’s joey shithead.
the band in the late 80’s re located to eugene oregon and later washington state.
the band is still alive today.their song on the comp.”suicide squad”is from their first early 80’s demo and is unreleased.
the detonators-started in california around 1979 and in 1983 worked with producer emitt rhodes of lollipop shoppe fame on their first emergency broadcast system album. after relocating to oregon another album “balls to you”l.p.was released in 1987. two european tours and several usa.tours also was a highlight for this band their song on the comp.e.b.s.is remastered for this release.

rf 7-this early 80’s band from california started their own smoke 7 label and brought us two excellent early 80’s compilation l.p.’s with”public service’and “sudden death”which they themselfs appeared on.
notiable early releases by rf 7 include the classic”weight of the world”l.p.and the geza x produced “fall in”e.p. put out in 1982.
with numerous best of’s released by puke n vomit-g.t.a.records and alive records,the band still continues to record and play out,having recently toured europe in 2010.

white flag-another political hardcore band from los angeles still existing today,they have played many shows world wide since forming in 1981. releases of note include”s is for space’-“thrid strike”l.p.and recently a best of released by the artifix label here
in the states.
defnics-early 80’s cleveland band featuring ex-pagan member robert conn.
the only vinyl appearances for this band back when they were together was the single 51%/hello from berlin and a song on the “cleveland confidental”compilation. track down their best of album on Smogveil Records.
