The Jesus Lizard meets Melvins in the newest noise rockish, dissonant punk offering from MIRACLE BLOOD!

1 min read

Produced and engineered by Benny Grotto (Daughters, Slapshot), mixed by Justin Mantooth (Bummer, Radkey) and mastered by Brad Boatright (The Armed, Sleep), “Like a Round Hole Through a Square Peg,” the newest jam from MIRACLE BLOOD just dropped online and it’s a one hell of a ride!

Boston’s groitty noise rock punks blend noise rock, punk and metal into their own unique style and voice. Their music is rife with manic energy, humor, and sarcasm all while retaining a heaviness, blending aspects of the Jesus Lizard, McLusky and Converge.

“Like a Round Hole Through a Square Peg” is about the irony of getting older and losing your sense of humor. The track winds through snaking riffs and dissonant grooves as singer, Andrew Wong, bellows and screams cartoon references.

With all the members of the band being big fans of animation and the song containing several references to cartoons, it made sense to make an animated video for the song. The video features cut-out animations of the band members and the single’s cover art.

Upholding the DIY spirit, the video was animated by Andrew Wong, the band’s singer/guitarist, and you can watch it below.

Miracle Blood plans to follow up this video with another single entitled “Pomeranian” and then a full-length album, which is currently in post-production. Stay tuned for more details on that.
