What is ‘Tune Up’
‘Tune Up’ is a place where local, national and international bands are featured along side eachother and where we share the experience they have gained over time. The video’s we upload contain artists from all different kinds of bands and give us a look on what kind of gear they use. We’re not going to dive into the entire review-concept and dissect a pedal in depth, there are loads of other great sites for that. We’re just providing a medium on which you’ll be able to see some of your favorite bands and what gear they use, to the point. What you do with that information is totally up to you.
Why is ‘Tune Up’
Just for the cheer fun of it. We ourselves have always enjoyed talking about our gear and doing research on what other guitarists and bass players use. However, we did notice that most of the “gear-talk” videos we saw online featured huge-arena-headline-artists, who are not really a representative reference for most guitarists. Most of us don’t have the budget let alone play arenas or festivals. That’s why we decided to bring the concept down to the public level. How do underground bands shape their sound? That’s where we come in. We’ve always been fascinated about unique sounds and the gear artists use to recreate those sounds on stage. Over the years we’ve experienced that review-sites and guitar-forums are very handy and useful in your endless search for the perfect sound but in the end the best advice you get is the advice from a fellow musician. We’ve always loved going up to our favorite artists and talk to them about their gear. The only difference now is that we record it and put it out for you to see. Hope you enjoy it. When is ‘Tune Up’
To start the series we decided on releasing an episode every two weeks. As this concept is new we still have to see whether this is realistic enough or not. We decided to divide the episode in seasons which will give us time to take a break once in a while and try to come up with some new interesting features.
Who is ‘Tune Up’
Tune Up is collaboration between a small group of Belgian friends who play music themselves. We don’t have any money resources or profits so this entire thing is run purely by the passion for music.
