UK black metallers UNDERDARK cover The Cure’s Plainsong

October 30, 2020
1 min read

Nottingham, UK based post-black metal quintet UNDERDARK have debuted a new limited edition cassette single which will include a blackened cover of The Cure’s 1989 classic ‘Plainsong’ and a newly recorded version of original song ‘With Bruised & Bloodied Feet’, out today. This cassette is a one time only collector’s item released in two variants by Red Nebula Records (US) and Surviving Sounds (EU) [SOLD OUT], strictly limited to 50 copies per label.

“Underdark is one of the more unsung artists buoying the current anti-fascist black metal wave, and it’s a goddamn travesty” ~ Vice

Underdark have earned themselves a strong reputation for being one of the most exciting post-black metal forces and live acts in the UK heavy underground, adhering to a strict anti-fascist ethos. Their strong ethical stance has brought the quintet widespread attention from the likes of Vice and Kerrang! This new single release will serve as an introduction to Underdark’s new vocalist Abi Vasquez who joined the band last year. In the five years since their formation, Underdark’s uncompromising sound has taken them on a European tour and to Bloodstock Festival, as well as performing shows with the likes of Dawn Ray’d, Svalbard, Leeched, Hundred Year Old Man and many more.

For fans of: Deafheaven, MOL, Alcest, Envy, Dawn Ray’d.
