Recorded with Boulty at Stuck on a Name Studios in Nottingham, the first digital single from Lincolnshire, UK based emotional hardcore band BREACHER lands online this week, and we’re thrilled to give you its first stream below! “They Call This Life / Divided” brings in a bit more melodic facets of hardcore (think DEFEATER, but more moody and gritty), with a convincing demonstration of what’s coming next from these guys.
Breacher is a hardcore band from Boston. Not Boston. Born mid-2019 as a solo project by Luke, who roped in brother Jordan of Alt-rockers Kill The Ideal to drum on some demos, which grew into something completely different than originally imagined. A vision, along with a few ideas captured on tape, was enough to tempt Jay to pick up a bass and bring Dan (Burning The Prospect/Wolfbeast Destroyer) to the practice space.
“We were due to play our first gig the weekend that the UK went into lockdown & so everything came to a grinding halt for a while.” – comments the band.
Fast forward to July 20. The first few songs were committed to tape by Boulty at Stuck On A Name studios, Nottingham. Breacher recorded 7 songs, 6 of which will be released digitally in pairs, starting with They Call This Life/Divided. No labels are involved.
“We wanted to try something different to our previous & other bands.” – they continue. “3 of us grew up & played in bands within the DIY hardcore scene & Jordan is from a different back ground. Breacher meets somewhere in the grey area between the two. Itβs more melodic than anything us three have done, rather than just racing to the end to beat you around the head with the songs! There is a bit more breathing room. Lyrically, I wanted to try something more personal to me, rather than a general observation of the world around us. I think in the first songs weβve written, there is definitely a bit of an overlap from what Wolfbeast Destroyer was doing, to what Breacher is/will become. Weβre still finding our feet both musically & lyrically.”

Explains the band: “Why are we working ourselves into the ground? What drives people against another? People have been asking the same questions for years, we either are oblivious or we know & just donβt want to accept it, which I believe the most likely of the two. We just seem to accept that everything the mainstream media is telling us, without questioning the motives of those pushing their agenda.”
Asked about their future plans, they conclude: “Future plans, obviously itβs not a great time to be in a band starting out. Ordinarily, weβd want to be out playing gigs & getting our name about, but when that is going to happen again, who knows? We have this single, then next month we have another to ready to go & another the month after. Weβre writing quite a bit, so weβre aiming to have more stuff recorded & out in some capacity before the end of the year. In the past, weβd be out playing gigs, record a demo & youβd grow organically as a band, but as things are, itβs trying to get your name out in the vast ocean that is the world of social media. I did say we wanted to try something different!”
