2 mins read

Fresh off the release of their new single “Paralyse” (see the new video above), which showcases the punchier and more ambient side of the band’s material, and is complimented with a disconcerting and dark visual, UK melodic hardcore / metalcore act IMMERSE are joining us today with their quick end of the year commentary and special list of best songs releases this year.

Throughout their recent promotion, the band have already had support from Rock Sound, Metal Hammer, Kerrang, Total Rock Radio, Idobi Radio, Dead Press, Gig Radar, BBC, Dreambound, Triple J, Moshville Times, and many more respected publications and landed plenty of official playlisting with Spotify, Deezer, Apple Music, Digster, Filtr and more. The band’s last single ‘Red Shade’ amassed over 65,000 plays on Spotify within 10 days and the band have a busy touring schedule planned for 2021.

Straight from the heart of Bristol, one of the epicentres of creativity in the UK, IMMERSE are a band that bring hope for better days. The post-hardcore quartet lay out all the pain, disparity and fears that come with being human. But it’s not all gloom; the band confronts these feelings head on to generate positivity and optimism – “These are unavoidable rights of passage that everyone can relate to. It’s how you confront them and let them affect you that will make you who you are”. There is a sense of unity as the band battles issues together with their fans. Immerse have justified their ever-growing presence in the UK music scene, playing shows around the UK with the likes of Holding Absence, Hacktivist and more. Their debut album has already achieved over 1 million streams. The quartet have all experienced dark times in their lives and implore you to “Remember that you are never alone!”. Teeth gritting riffs, soaring choruses and passionate live performances have won them a loyal fanbase which is destined to keep on growing. With their eyes set firmly on the top, these four lads are set to solidify their place in history. IMMERSE WITH US.

IMMERSE

Asked about their take on the passing year, IMMERSE admit that 2020 has honestly been the strangest year of their lives.

“It’s been horrible from one aspect but incredible from another. We’ve had covid, lock down, a lack of gigs and loads of places that we love have closed. BUT! We’ve also had one of our best releases to date. loads of opportunities have opened up for us in the future that we can’t talk about just yet, but honestly 2021 is going to be a great year for us as a band. We got lucky that at the time of the release people were stuck inside so it helped our streaming loads because more people were there to listen. 2021 is going to be a hell of a year, we’ve already got tours/shows/festivals lined up and we can’t wait to get back out there and play the new album.”

To wrap it up and give you some more inspirations in the process, we grabbed the whole band’s top song of the year and got them to say why. Check it out below.

Archie: Learn To Love The Lie – Four Year Stong

I love the overall vibe of this song. It dropped just before summer and honestly it had that real punch that I love from FYS. It’s a great road trip tune for sure!

Josh: Lost Cause – Novelists FR

Features so many contrasting elements from subgenres that I love and its super fresh.

Tim: Prototypes – Oxygen

Really upbeat summer banger. Makes me think of having a beer with the lads in the sunshine.

Ben: Architects – Animals

Big, crushing riffs coupled with a catchy chorus hook give this track some epic energy, a definite live show banger for when gigs return.
