In keeping with tradition, Canada’s top-selling indie label Dine Alone Records is releasing a free sampler today to celebrate the upcoming holiday season and another incredible year of milestones for the label, which has now expanded operations in Nashville and L.A.
The samplers have earned a reputation for featuring quirky covers, and this year is no exception with DA staff swimming hip deep in below zero weather. This year’s Winter Sampler features 26 killer tracks including the first single from Lieutenant, the exciting new solo project of Nate Mendel (Foo Fighters/Sunny Day Real Estate), alongside tracks from Lucius, Shovels & Rope, Delta Spirit, k-os, Single Mothers, Tokyo Police Club, Spencer Burton and Say Yes (Jordan Hastings from Alexisonfire’s new project). The sampler also features a heap of new and exciting additions to Dine Alone’s expanding international roster, including Broncho (direct support on the 2015 Billy Idol tour), Arkells, Spain and more. See below for a full tracklisting.
There are also some very special tracks including Sylvan Esso’s remix of labelmates Phox’s hit single “Slow Motion”, Haven Sound’s recent signing Moors and their remix of James Vincent McMorrow’s hit “Cavalier”, and a track from Gold-award winning You+Me featuring Alecia Moore (P!nk) and Dallas Green (City And Colour). A never-before-released “mystery track” featuring a familiar voice rounds out the sampler.
To make the holidays even brighter, anyone who downloads the 2014 Winter Sampler and enters their information will instantly be entered to win 1 of 20 prize packs from Dine Alone Records and their friends at West 49, Denon, Crosley, Yamaha and Dine Alone Foods. One lucky winner will win a grand prize that also includes a Yamaha Pacifica Electric Guitar, Yamaha THR Amp, and Crosley Cruiser Turntable.
2015 marks Dine Alone Records’ 10-year anniversary, so keep an eye out for more exciting announcements from the label in the New Year.
