IDIOTEQ featured rockers Valley Of Doves is marking another step forward with the release of the music video for “You Are The Ghost,” the third single from their 2024 debut LP, ‘The Long Arm Of Light‘ via Fair Vaux.
Alongside the video, they are preparing to release a deluxe single featuring both the original studio version and a newly recorded acoustic rendition.
While 2025 touring plans are still in flux, the band has at least one confirmed festival slot at Audiofeed Festival in Urbana, Illinois this July, though the festival has yet to make an official announcement.
“You Are The Ghost” cuts through the record’s broader themes with a directness that feels intentional. The album leans into gravity and curiosity, but this track operates differently—rooted in the simplicity that made 90s rock radio unforgettable.
Guitarist Michael Abrams makes that connection clear: “This is the most straightforward song on the record, and I think there’s something special about that. So many of the songs 90s rock radio I loved had simple riffs and a lyrical hook that just made magic. Those songs are what inspired ‘You Are the Ghost.’

Of all the songs on the record, this one felt like the one best suited to be stripped down to the basics. We recorded the acoustic and vocal on the same mic together in a single take and just added the minimal electric around it. It’s so easy to make a song perfect now, and I get the appeal. But we wanted the acoustic version to stand on its own. It’s actually the imperfections that give it the character we wanted.”
The acoustic version reinforces that philosophy—letting the rawness shape its identity instead of chasing polish. It’s a contrast to the larger scope of the record, where tension between weight and wonder plays out in layered compositions. Here, the band steps back and lets the song breathe on its own terms.
Valley Of Doves is moving forward, though at their own pace. 2025 is on the horizon, with tour plans slowly materializing, but for now, “You Are The Ghost” stands as a marker of where they are.
