Portuguese hardcore band REALITY SLAP has just posted the lead single from their impending Limitless EP, approaching release through WAR Records in January. The new track has been premiered through a video for the title track for the record! Watch below.
REALITY SLAP vocalist Johnny issues with the new video, “‘Limitless’ is the first video for the new EP. We wanted to get a little trippy and show a bit of the vibe of our new sound. The DIY spirit is always present in everything we do, it’s a very important side of this scene so we got our hands dirty and did everything ourselves at [drummer] Tiago’s house in one afternoon. We have a thing about trashing houses while playing music as everyone can see when we played a show at our friend’s flat and recorded a video for ‘The End’.”Adds WAR Records founder Andrew Kline (Strife), “I’m excited to be working with REALITY SLAP to release Limitless… The first time I heard the EP I was blown away. Hardcore kids need to look beyond their borders and see that there are great bands coming from all corners of the world. Combining the best of old-school aggression with a modern hardcore vibe, REALITY SLAP‘s songs are full of tight riffs, heavy grooves, and they always pack a massive punch. The members of the band are no strangers to the punk and hardcore scene, as collectively, they have been touring across Europe in their previous bands before forming REALITY SLAP in 2009. After the release of their demo and first EP that year, they recorded and released their first full-length album Necks & Ropes in 2012, the album featuring appearances from Justice Tripp (Trapped Under Ice, Angel Du$t) and Winston McCall (Parkway Drive).In 2016, REALITY SLAP signed to WAR Records, owned by Andrew Kline of Los Angeles hardcore band, Strife. The band refined their sound and recorded their strongest material to date, Limitless, at Eyeball Studios in Portugal. Limitless bridges the gap between the old and the new, merging the enduring influence of DMIZE, Outburst, Breakdown, Cro-Mags, and Bad Brains mixed with modern bands like Turnstile, Backtrack, Down To Nothing, and Terror.
