Psych rockers DARK PALMS release new tasteful EP

1 min read

Olympia, Washington’s moody psych/stoner post punk rockers (!) DARK PALMS have recently released their new EP called “Smoke”. The new offering features four heavy psych influenced post-punk songs that captureย the band’s dark, sandy, sound thatย shows a genuine maturation in this projecy. DARK PALMS deserve to remain in the spotlight for all the right reasons, no doubt. Listen below and share if you like what you hear.

Following the EP the band will be booking shows across the west coast and prepping a new full length followed by touring throughout the country.

DARK PALMS is:ย Laurence Goldenstar (vocals), Timothy Grisham (guitar), Jessie Jackson (bass, vocals), Morgan Chance (drums).

“Dark Palms is a post-punk band from Olympia, WA that play the mostย aggressive music the genre has to offer. Their debut single “Ghost Horse” isย a bass heavy package of this. It starts off with a kick and then unloadsย into a full assault of heavy hitting jams. The band sounds like a faster andย heavier Christian Death or Spaceman 3. The band isn’t all about theย heaviness of the genre though, as the song employs a generous amount of fuzzย to the song. It’s exactly what you’d want out of a debut single from aย post-rock band; it shows a well-written post-punk song encapsulating allย your favorite parts of the genre, and then some.” — Noisey/Vice

“Visual-heavy, chilling post-punk. Such is the sound of Olympia,ย Washington’s Dark Palms.” — Fuse TV

“Oh, Dark Palms, where have you been all my life? Their new single, Ghostย Horse, is a post-punk, fuzzed-out trip into pure American noir… straightย out of weird America.” — PopShifter

“Dark Palms cast a long northwest shadow of trees and other forces of natureย governed by ghost animal instincts and thrashing dark cloaked chords thatย carry out distorted and deranged power chord hooks that serenade theย surrounding rural splendor.” — Impose Magazine
