Despite we haven’t been a well fitted platform to report the latest news on pop rock / nu metal band LINKIN PARK, we’re sad to report that Chester Bennington (also of DEAD BY SUNRISE and STONE TEMPLE PILOTS )ย has committed suicide at age 41. He hanged himself at earlier today at his residence in Palos Verdes, Celifornia. His bandmate Mike Shinoda tweeted:
“Shocked and heartbroken, but it’s true. An official statement will come out as soon as we have one.”
Chester struggled with drug and alcohol addiction. He was married and had 6 children.
The band released their new music video for the song “Talking To Myself” hours before singer’s suicide.
UPDATE: The band’s North American tour has been canceled. Live Nation commented:
We are incredibly saddened to hear about the passing of Chester Bennington … Our thoughts go out to all those affected.
