The Darkening – ANCST streaming new songs!

March 9, 2020
1 min read

After a year of personal turmoil, ANCST returns with their newest offering “the darkening”, a 2 song 7″ single that allows a glimpse into their future and their upcoming album that will be released in autumn 2020. With two short and brutal tracks that stray away from the black metal paths ANCST has been using on their previous releases, the berlin-based collective shows once again that they are still growing and defining their own sound release after release. expect no mercy here, the blast beats are still constant as machine-gun fire, the riffs will cut through your ears and the vocals & lyrics are as hateful as ever.

The band commented:

We are proud to announce new records. in time for our tour with Depravationย we will be putting out the first single of our upcoming album that will be released in autumn throughย Lifeforce Recordsย &ย Yehonala tapes. the single will be released as one-sided 7″ and will feature one song from the album and a B-side. Pre-orders will be up soon. Here is the cover already.

Abysm of existence

The circle is complete, now I am the enemy. Trapped in my shattered husk, now I will suffocate. A life of lies where nothing means a thing, born into madness. I recall the pillars of the past, monuments of failure. I recall butchering myself to fit in with all you rats. There will be no peace, there will be no justice. All I know is this hunger for salvation. I foresee the end, the end of this damnation. All i ever wanted is to be free. Rest assured it will come to this, I will dwell in silence. Day after day, the same repetition. I gaze starwards, while I wither. No mortal triumphs will echo in these halls of steel. So bitter, so futile, the collapse is all I see. I bear the scars of your hollow world, pulled apart and fed to this nothingness.

Stagnant oblivion

A lifetime of decay, a smile I know too well. Mirrors distort the view, holographs of me and you. Weโ€™re spitting shattered glass, digital and build to last. The pictures in our hands, just (a) means to an end. We feed the treacherous machine, begging for devotion. Our comfort lies in extinction, detached from our earthly wombs. Claiming the void as a sanctuary. Forever in decline, corrosion of the mind. Crawling through bits and bytes, in envy and apathy. Cold lies the scenery, untainted and lifeless. In our chains, we decay. Betrayed by vanity, we breathe denial.
