“End The Tsar” – Italian-Canadian post emo artist NERO NERO shares anti-Putin protest song

1 min read

Dedicated to the dethroning of dictator Vladmir Putin and the rightful independence of the Ukraine nation,  Joel Nero Vigilante is teaming up with us to give you his new single in response to the tragic invasion of Ukraine. “End The Tsar” is a debut political punk song from my newly formed project NERO NERO.

With a genesis in the Toronto area of Canada, NERO NERO is a ‘post emo’ project of first generation Italian-Canadian Nero Vigilante. After years of nihilistic debauchery above a car-wash, paying dues in a car factory, and slaving at a call center; all whilst battling addiction and Bipolar disorder: Nero began his intrepid journey of finding more out of his life and music. The time for Nero Nero’s worldly battle and escape from colloquial hardship through transformative creation has come.

Following a metamorphosis into sobriety, after years of hospitalizations for diagnosed mental illnesses, Nero Vigilante has found a new sense of Post-Emo identity in his newly established project Nero Nero. Baritone distorted guitars, consistent driving bass lines, and Tarantella extrapolated drumming patterns establish Punk Rock versatility layered over Nero Nero’s conceptually minded Post-Punk synth-based canvas tracks.

Nero Nero

The project pays deep homage to the Punk Rock developments of Nero’s career whilst maintaining Emo-anthemic dynamics akin to the Chicago Midwest-Emo sound and Alternative Pop vocal hooks influenced by the late great Kurt Cobain. His work continues to grow towards his dreamy, pop-centric fascinations.

Over Nero’s career, he has pursued purpose through creativity under the monikers “Lint”, “Jojii”, and “Joel Vigilante” (his given name). He has released a Garage Punk full length (Dry) with Burger Records’ subsidiary label (Wiener Records), a DIY Alt-Pop album (Vamps), and a tongue-in-cheek EP (I Want To Die) as these former aliases. With a fiercely spiritual outlook on life, Nero Nero has begun production on dozens of singles and a handful of EPs to be released over the project’s 2022 launch with new Canadian music label Vigilante Music. A prospective LP is planned for release subsequently.

Lyrics:

Past imperialism doesn’t Justify present day extremism
or expansionism.

My God,
His Ego is bigger than his bombs.
Lay arm and fight back when Tyranny has come!
Clench Fists and shout “His end has come!”
Dethrone the mad man,
His end has come!

End the Tsar!
He’s going to kill us all!
End the Tsar!
The Fool will Fall!

He sacks his own people,
For his own pride.
Picked his sole leader,
In the name of his own rights

How many shells is he going to drop,
In the name of his new Reich?
How many will he displace in his new right?
There’s no right!

End the Tsar!
He’s going to kill us all!
End the Tsar!
The Fool will Fall!

Past imperialism doesn’t Justify present day extremism
or expansionism.

End the Tsar!
He’s going to kill us all!
End the Tsar!
The Fool will Fall!
