Captured by Danika Zandboer’s lens, Paint It Black’s new record, ‘Famine,’ bursts onto the music scene, offering a sonic exploration of discontent and vulnerability in a tumultuous world. ‘Famine‘ marks the return of the acclaimed Philadelphia outfit after a decade-long hiatus, with their latest work released on Revelation Records.

The eight-song collection echoes the raw intensity of hardcore punk, infused with introspective lyrics that grapple with disillusionment and resilience.

Tackling issues from religious zealotry to the rigid interpretations of the Constitution, and the fraught concept of law enforcement, ‘Famine’ is an audacious confrontation of current societal narratives.

Frontman Daniel Yemin, with the force of Andy Nelson on bass, Josh Agran’s guitar work, and Jared Shavelson’s pounding drums, weaves a fast-paced, honest dialogue.

Recorded at The Atomic Garden in Oakland, California by producer Jack Shirley, known for his work with bands like Deafheaven and Gouge Away, the album seizes the spirit of the times with each track.

The album ‘Famine‘ is available for streaming and purchase. A second limited vinyl pressing is also up for grabs via Revelation Records.

The group will commemorate their latest release with two back-to-back sold-out shows at the First Unitarian Church in their hometown of Philadelphia. The performances will feature an array of supporting acts, from Pegboy and Radiator Hospital to The HIRS Collective on November 4th, followed by The Messthetics, Spaced, and Raskol on November 5th.

Live Shows:

11/4 – Philadelphia, PA @ First Unitarian Church w/ Pegboy, Radiator Hospital, HIRS Collective
11/5 – Philadelphia, PA @ First Unitarian Church w/ The Messthetics, Spaced, Raskol
