With raw energy and straight up punk attitude, this band of four old friends—Jim, Mat, Ambrosio, and Dany—has been carving their own path in the scene. Their latest release, Dead Inside, takes a deeper dive into the personal and the painful, tackling themes of depression, survival, and the ongoing battle for mental health.
For frontman Jim Giguere, Dead Inside is a reflection of his own experiences with suicidal thoughts and their bassist’s fight with cancer . It’s deeply personal,” he says, “but I hope it encourages others going through tough times to reach out, to talk, to not face their struggles alone.” The message behind the song feels urgent, especially at a time when mental health conversations are often swept under the rug.
Earlier in 2024, the band released two high-energy singles, Civil Disobedience and Pabst Blue Ribbon, both embodying the band’s rebellious, free-spirited ethos.
While those songs leaned more into the classic punk themes of resistance and counterculture, Dead Inside marks a shift in tone, diving into personal struggles with an intensity that resonates far beyond the usual.
Formed by a group of old friends who genuinely enjoy making music together, We Told You So has kept the DIY ethos alive. From recording to promotion to design, they handle everything themselves.
“We love playing live,” Jim says, reflecting on a year that saw them doing a solid one or two shows a month, each packed with energy and grit.
But We Told You So are about connection—linking with people who feel out of place, who don’t fit in, and who find solace in the power of punk rock. With influences spanning from classic punk to modern hardcore, they’ve created anthems that resonate with anyone who’s ever felt like an outsider.
After Dead Inside, the band plans to head back into the studio to start working on new material for their upcoming album, continuing their streak of DIY independence.

Jim mentions, adding a layer of personal victory to his story. “It’s been over a year, and I’m ready for what’s next.”
As We Told You So gears up for their fall tour, they’re doing it on their own terms, and with a clear message: You’re not alone in the struggle.
