The new tracks are a perfect example of emotional Polish post-hardcore, balancing on the edge of a spirit from the past that has echoed through the 80s Polish punk scene, through screamo, and into a more nostalgic, cinematic post-hardcore. “‘I froze, I drowned, I didn’t understand…,’” are the haunting words that capture the essence of Dzień 2, a track dealing with the crushing weight of resignation in the midst of depression.
It’s a song that doesn’t just describe numbness but inhabits it, freezing the listener in its icy grasp. “The help that was being offered from the other side,” hints at a missed lifeline, a reminder that in such moments, reaching out can be a matter of life or death. Behind the heavy lyrics and sound, there’s the unmistakable touch of their former guitarist, Krzysztof Szczęsny, who handled recording, mixing, and mastering.
