AT THE DRIVE-IN will be reissuing a two of their studio albums on their own label and Jim Ward mentioned in the press release for the news that they are highlights of the band’s” “first chapter.”
The reissues are their 1996 debut “Acrobatic Tenement” and their 2000 smash record “Relationship of Command“. They will be released individually, with the reissue of “Acrobatic Tenement” set for release on March 5th, while the reissue of “Relationship of Command” arrives a month later, April 22nd. There is currently no word on a reissue of the band’s 1998 second album “In/Casino/Out“.
Ward comments:
It was interesting to revisit the recordings that bookended the first chapters of our band. The earnest and pure excitement of the beginning and the level of craftsmanship we achieved by Relationship of Command leaves me nothing but proud. I am happy these records have found their way to continue to feel new as people discover music they love and embrace our work.
The quote “first chapter” may indicate that ATDI, who finally reunited a year ago, will continue on with either a new album or more shows.
