Aurora Redux – gloomy synth driven act SLOW CRUSH premiere new music

1 min read

Our recent guests, shoegazin’ dream pop rockers SLOW CRUSH, have teamed up with Lost Century Kid to recreate two of the most dreamy tracks on the critically acclaimed Slow Crush debut album ‘Aurora’.

Bringing Isa Holliday’s soothing voice up front seemed like the obvious thing to do. Softly shaping arrangements around it was quite the therapeutic journey, but at the same time a very mindful process.

Considerately filling up space between vocals and guitars, like the Juno-60 melody in “Collide”. Or, completely altering the song structure and harmonies in “Aurora”.At first, all of this happened in real time, jamming along with the original tracks. Afterwards, everything was programmed in MIDI and recorded in a single live take, simultaneously controlling all synths and samplers.

Both reworks are a unique capture of that moment you decide to finally let it all go.

The band commented: Ever since the very start of Slow Crush gloomy synth driven music has been an enormous influence on us. Together with Lost Century Kid we’ve accomplished something we’re really keen on sharing with all of you. This is more than another project for us and we hope to see this evolve into something more in the not too distant future

‘Aurora Redux’ is a digital only release and will contain 2 tracks ‘Aurora Redux’ & ‘Collide Redux’. Available through our bandcamp with limited collab T-shirt. Hope you’re all doing fine, have a good day <3″
