Boston rock’n’roll skinheads BADTERMS premiere “Nest of Vipers” ahead of European tour

1 min read

For most of their run, Boston’s rowdy oi punk rockers Badterms has been a two-man recording project. Curt Florczak and Hans Molnar wrote and tracked everything; the full lineup only existed onstage.

On “Nest of Vipers” — out April 24 on TKO Records in North America and Contra Records in Europe — that gap finally closes, at least partway. Half the album is still the two founders in the studio. The other half pulls in guitarist Jason Hunt, drummer Mike Reinhalter and bassist Dominic DiNardo — the live five-piece that’s been grinding through festivals and tours since “Panic Age” dropped.

Eight tracks, Oi!-laced punk rock’n’roll, picking up where the last one left off.

“The new album definitely represents a period of growth for the band. It’s somewhat representative of our creative arc from the start,” Florczak says. “Transitioning from strictly a recording project with only two members into a full band, with everyone contributing to the process, has had its challenges. But, I think it came together and we all learned a lot doing this one.”

The post-“Panic Age” stretch kept them busy — Canadian festival slots, a European tour, a run of East Coast gigs. Hunt’s studio work on this one was its own learning curve.

“Recording Nest of Vipers was a learning process for me, having never utilized DAW software previously,” he says. “As with all of our endeavors this has only strengthened my skills as a musician.”

DiNardo sees the record as a hinge point. “Nest of Vipers is a transitional album for me, having components of previous writing methods along with newer elements and contributions from all BADTERMS members.”

What the full-band contributions add, more than anything, is a closer match to what Badterms actually sound like in a room — the same five people throwing it around, not a studio idea of them.

The European run kicks off May 28 and wraps June 7, 2026.
