Released in February through a joint released by Get This Right Records and Beatdown Hardwear, CDC’s End closes a five year gap since their last release, delivering five, groove-heavy tales with a slick, streetwise, tension-fueled delivery, recorded with Vince Ratti at Skylight Studio (Balance And Composure, Title Fight, Turmoil) and mastered by Will Yip at Studio 4 (Cop Problem, Lauren Hill, Blacklisted). Revolver Magazine issued that the band’s “bolt-tight, extra-chunky style of hardcore reminiscent of bands like Hatebreed and Merauder, and its stripped down assault is striking. Pummeling riffs set just the right stage for Brooke Schwartz’s frontmanship, an ace combination of a punk snarl and hip-hop flow.” Lambgoat championed the band’s attitude and dedication: “If you’re a real fan of hardcore, I mean the type of person who would attend a Tuesday night Bent Life show at the local VFW, then you’ve probably heard of CDC. For more than a decade, the Lansdale, Pennsylvania band has been bouncing around the globe, spreading the gospel of blue-collar, DIY hardcore.” Selective Memory praised the new recording, offering in part, “I love the group’s street antics. I love that they are not afraid to get dirty and become as much as a fan for their music as the fans themselves. I love that End digs into the trenches of East Coast mentality and comes up for air with both arms swinging.” Stereokiller reviewedEnd with a 4/5 rating, offering, “The hip-hop hardcore is a dying breed and mostly because bands can’t do it right anymore. CDC has proven they can do it right on at least one track and they can be successful in producing more like it, this could be what really separates themselves from their peers… End is a fun blending of old meets new with the return to a more simple song writing approach with the evolved vocals.”
