“Coping Without A Cure” – UK atmospheric post-hardcore act LASTELLE premiere new enrapturing song & video

UK atmospheric post-hardcore band LASTELLE are pleased to announce their signing with new bespoke UK label Year Of The Rat Records, and their brand new single ‘Coping Without A Cure’ (also available via Dreambound), which we are stoked to give you along with beautiful music video above! Check it out, scroll down to check out more details, the band’s special “5 Bands to watch” list, and watch their previous music videos, emanating with similar moods, astounding depth and resonance.

Asked about the meaning behing the new song, the band offered: ““Coping Without a Cure”. This song is a bit different for us – it’s pretty short, and is the first song we have written with Adam singing clean vocals. This was actually a last-minute decision in the studio, and was demoed with Mike singing the opening verse originally. The subject of the song is very personal; the lyrics personify someone suffering from Alzheimers, how they’re starting to forget the people they love. If you’ve dealt with this yourself, you’ll know how sad it is to witness. ”

With comparisons being drawn to the likes of Devil Sold His Soul, Casey, Underoath, Being As An Ocean, and The Elijah; LASTELLE are writing music that blends the power and hooks of Post-Hardcore with the dense soundscapes and textures of Post-Rock. Focusing on dynamic song writing, cascading vocal hooks, and emotional lyrics.

Making some bold first steps since forming in September 2018, with streaming plays totalling over 200,000 on Spotify and Apple Music alone, official music video views totalling over 160,000, and multiple tours and shows under their belts already. They’ve shared the stage with the likes of DREAM STATE, THECITYISOURS, POLAR, PRESS TO MECO and more.

“We’ve got plenty lined up for 2021, but with shows being cancelled we’ve focused on writing and recording new work.” – says the band.

Asked about their view on the George Floyd / Black Lives Matter protests, they continued: “As a subject that is perpetually relevant, but specifically more so now, we have always been allies to the Black Lives Matter movement. Although only a small step, we felt we wanted to use our platform and our music to show our support. We released our previous single “Bluebells” on a charity CD a few months ago, where all the proceeds have gone to fund causes that align with this very important movement.”

Extra: 5 Bands To Watch, by LASTELLE!

1. Chapter & Verse

2. Thecityisours

3. Behind Blue Eyes

4. As Everything Unfolds

5. I, The Mapmaker

“Obviously there’s so many more other bands we’ve played with who are incredible, but these are the first 5 that came to mind! Check them out, you won’t regret it.”
