WITCHRITE, a Gorzów Wielkopolski, Poland based band whose sound is an amalgamation of the most extreme forms of metal and punk, has just released a new split with Czech band Kronstadt. The vinyl, which was released at the end of March, is a collaboration between several DIY labels, including 783 Punx, Wargame, Nieroby, Stradoom, Rejected Abused, Panic Movements, and Cult Of The Bear.
On their side of the split, WITCHRITE delivers eight blistering tracks that seamlessly blend metal and punk hooks. The recordings were done at Studio Riot, with Jędras at the helm, and were captured chronologically as they were created, resulting in a cohesive and powerful 13-minute collection of tracks.
The decision to release a split album was born out of a desire to share the music they had already created, rather than waiting for a full-length album. Kronstadt, who share a long-standing friendship with WITCHRITE and often play shows together, were the ideal choice for this collaboration.
Since their formation in 2007, WITCHRITE has not had a single change in their lineup. Despite living in different parts of the country, the band has managed to play over 120 shows in Poland and beyond, including in the Czech Republic, Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Slovenia, and even as far away as Israel.
They are heavily influenced by a range of genres, including thrash, death metal, crust, grind, and 80s American hardcore.
Their lyrics tackle a variety of socio-political issues, reflecting the band’s strong ties to the DIY scene.
Prior to this split, WITCHRITE has released two studio albums and a demo, all of which showcase their unique and powerful sound. This year, the band plans to play several shows in England, adding to their already impressive list of performances.
