Dave Grohl works on a new project with Krist Novoselic and Butch Vig

Dave Grohl has been back in the studio working on some mysterious project with his former NIRVANA bandmate Krist Novoselic and Butch Vig of GARBAGE.

The project that Grohl is working on is apparently not a new album by his post-NIRVANA bands FOO FIGHTERS or THEM CROOKED VULTURES. Rumour has it that they are working on his new documentary at Sound City Studios in Madison, Wisconsin, the same place where NIRVANA recorded their iconic 1991 album “Nevermind”, with Vig producing it.

As of late, recording of this “mystery project” has begun, according to the following post on Twitter by Vig:

The last 24 hours have been surreal! Had a great gig at the El Rey last night, and spent today recording with Dave, Krist and special guest!

Grohl, Novoselic and Vig were previously reunited during the recording of the latest FOO FIGHTERS album “Wasting Light“, which came out last year.
