DEPRESSORS unleash electrifying blend of emotive indie and punk rock with new double single

1 min read

Depressors, the vibrant indie rock band comprising Rachel Quarrell on vocals and guitar, Brandon Phillips on drums, Jake Letizia on bass, and Al Zaniboni on guitar, has unveiled two new tracks from their forthcoming full-length record. Titled “Along the Way” and “Exit Music (For a Meg Ryan Film),” the two songs were recorded by their close friend Ryan Stack at The Noise Floor and demonstrate the band’s innovative amalgamation of punk and indie rock. The tracks boast infectious hooks, dynamic riffs, and Rachel’s commanding vocals that are sure to captivate listeners.

Depressors is a band that continually explores novel musical avenues and dares to challenge conventional norms. Their electrifying stage presence is a testament to their devotion and enthusiasm for their art. With their upcoming full-length release, the band is poised to leave an indelible mark on the indie rock scene.

Rachel Quarrell, the band’s vocalist, remarked on her lyrical approach, saying, “Lyrics have always been the aspect of music that really spoke to me (literally and metaphorically). Coming from a family of writers, we were all charged with who could get to the joke the quickest, who could make the most biting comment in an argument. Language and vocabulary are fascinating to me. I deal heavily in metaphor because I want a listener to be able to close their eyes and picture exactly what I’m talking about; even if it’s something completely absurd. My greatest lyrical goal is to have someone hear a song and say ‘shit, that was so clever.'”
