“Down, Down” drifts up: emotive rockers ANXIOUS share new single amidst exhausting tour with THE WONDER YEARS

Amidst a relentless tour schedule with The Wonder Years, Anxious unveils a resonant new single “Down, Down,” manifesting the struggles intertwined between musical passion and personal exhaustion.

The single, a product of Run For Cover Records, resonates with the band’s customary blend of hardcore resolve, emo authenticity, and ’90s alt-rock allure.

Crafted in The Barber Shop Studios under the seasoned guidance of Brett Romnes (known for his work with The Movielife, Front Bottoms, Oso Oso), “Down, Down” emerges as a seamless continuity from the band’s lauded debut album, Little Green House, and subsequent singles “Where You Been” and “Sunsign.”

The new track not only sustains but elevates Anxious’ repute for crafting anthems that echo with melody and meaning.

The band’s voyage can be vicariously lived through the tunes of “Down, Down,” now available on YouTube and major streaming platforms. As Grady Allen, the voice of Anxious, introspects on the taxing yet transformative journey, the narrative of “Down, Down” unfolds.

Allen elucidates, “‘Down, Down‘ is a song that focuses on exhaustion and the repercussions that emotions can have on those closest to you. The last two years have been incredibly strenuous on Anxious. We have toured nonstop, tried to keep up with writing new music, all the while trying to maintain at-home relationships and other personal goals. At a point it just begins to feel like too much. Around this time last year I began coming to terms with these emotions and started wondering whether Anxious was what I needed currently. Having that internal dialogue is stressful–but it came from a genuine place. Where it gets complex though is once you have to share those feelings with your band mates, your friends. Then you’re faced with anger, frustration, and feelings of betrayal–all for emotions that are ultimately out of your control. The song is about having those conversations and deliberating over whether your emotions are relevant or ultimately out of touch.”

The road ahead remains robust with performances, as Anxious continues their tour, fortifying their presence in the hardcore-punk realm, one city at a time. Through the turmoil and the tenacity, Anxious echoes the sentiment of every passionate heart beating in sync with the rhythm of life’s ups and downs.
