“Early Iteration” – Philly’s bleak, metallic post hardcore act GRIP premiere new LP!

1 min read

After 3,5 years of silence, Philadelphia based heavy, sludgy, metallized post hardcore act GRIP are back! With a serious bang! Their debut full length “Early Iteration” marks their first release since their “Wolves/Fawn” EP (October 2015). GRIP has been working on expanding their brand of heavy, sludgy, noisy sound into a massive full length album, self recorded in Philadelphia, PA and Chicago, IL between 2016 and 2019. After the recent premiere of the opening single “Entrance”, the band has unveiled the full stream below!

Early Iteration draws upon a mythic structure to deliver a multifaceted narrative addressing sacrifice, belief, and the evolution of an idea. The music acts as a violent vehicle, bleak and begrudging, running with the narrative, offering only occasional and misleading respite. It fires harsh and tangential melodies rapidly, rarely breaking sequence, dragging itself towards an inevitable, explosive end.

Grab the record NOW via SpotifyApple MusiciTunes, or Bandcamp, catch them live at Kung Fu Necktie venue in Philadelphia on May 20th, and book them for more shows (contact via [email protected])! The band is actively seeking bookings in the Philadelphia, PA area and northeast coast for spring and summer 2019!
