Epic blackgaze tinged metalcore act COPSE signs with Church Road Records, teases new EP ‘Old Belief | New Despair’

UK-based metalcore band COPSE has announced a new partnership with Church Road Records for the release of their upcoming EP, ‘Old Belief | New Despair’. The EP is set to drop on August 11th, 2023, with the lead single ‘Old Belief‘ available now.

Old Belief is essentially a fuck you to bigots and their outdated beliefs and opinions. We’re incredibly thankful to Church Road for having faith in us and can’t wait to work with one of the best labels in the game alongside so many other great bands and peers” – Copse

The band, formed during the 2020 lockdown, started as a creative exchange between guitarists Phil Vernon and Craig Mallard. As the world gradually emerged from pandemic restrictions, they expanded their lineup, recruiting bassist Rob Collier, drummer Ryan Westwood, and vocalist Ed Garrood-Gibbs, known for his work with Devil Sold His Soul.

COPSE made waves in the metalcore scene with their debut record ‘Mara | Mondrem‘, which was independently released in February 2022 to significant acclaim. The record was produced, mixed, and mastered at Bandit Studios by Jonny Renshaw, notable for his work with Devil Sold His Soul, The Elijah, Blood Youth, and Rinoa.
