UK alt post rockers BLANKET reimagine Post Malone’s ‘I Fall Apart’

1 min read

Coming from the vibrant seaside town of Blackpool, UK, the post-rock band Blanket is carving a name for itself with its rich, atmospheric melodies. Currently, they are making a mark with their novel take on Post Malone’s celebrated track, ‘I Fall Apart,’ a part of their ‘Blue Eyes’ EP.

Starting as a solo venture by vocalist and guitarist Bobby Pook, Blanket morphed from a bedroom project into a fully realized band, a testament to the transformative power of passion and perseverance. Their eclectic mix of inspirations, from the emo melodies of Post Malone to the powerful tunes of Foo Fighters, Deftones, and Failure, adds a distinct flavor to their music.

“When we’re writing we always reference a lot of different genres and artists,” Blanket reveals. “One time we just jammed [Post Malone’s] ‘I Fall Apart’ in Simon’s bedroom and went ‘yeah, we should probably record that.’” This is an intriguing peek into their creative process and their ability to create a cohesive blend of diverse influences.

Blanket’s journey began in earnest with their 2016 debut album “Our Brief Encounters,” which received critical acclaim and opened doors for their musical growth. Their sophomore effort, “How To Let Go” released in 2018, consolidated their reputation as creators of impactful music.

The recent Post Malone cover, alongside an impressive performance video, illustrates their ability to respect original material while infusing it with their own unique vibe.
