1 min read

9 months after our latest exclusive feature for EVERY STRANGER LOOKS LIKE YOU, we’re proiud to give you their newest track ‘Self Portrait’, offering the first glance into their new full length offering, slated for a 2017 release via UK’s Dog Knights Productions! Titled “Bluest Shade Of Black”, the record will mark the band’s debut full length and will be released on a beautiful 12″ vinyl record. The new song seems to offer more extremes in volume and emotion, resulting in moody, yet very intense teaser for the full recording. Listen below.

The band commented:

This one is really special for us, as it is not only our debut, but also the first batch of songs which we feel define us as a band. BSOB is the record we wanted you guys to hear, and we hope you’re all with us now this journey is about to start.

Check out the gorgeous artwork made by Wouter Duprez / Teer Studio!

So there you go. 2016 has brought us some amazing things, and we had a blast, but 2017 is when everything will start. Better be ready.

Lyrics:

Turn my back
To a world
That never wanted
To see my face
They’re bathing in mud
Rats in the dirt

I’ve been dreaming these dreams
Of ceasing to exist
They turn fingers into claws
And hands into fists
I’ve been chiseling away at a porcelain dream
In the end it all breaks
And the shards fall down on me

When it rains, it always pours
When it doesn’t, I’m still cold

The fear of failure cripples my thoughts
A casket full of silk is what I have bought
Bury my bones
Please let me sleep
This life is a gift but it’s one I won’t keep

It burns a hole in the back of my head
To know that I won’t ever sleep
Without regrets

Peel back the skin
Remove the flesh
I already was a skeleton
Before I was kissed by death
