Gainesville, Florida based hardcore band Damage Done have released their upcoming sophomore LP, “Everything Good Is Gone,” available now via Salvaged Records.
The lead single “Savior Breath” features guest vocalist Rob Fusco of One King Down and Most Precious Blood and was a powerful rejection of complacency fostered by religion. It teased a behemoth of a release, which we’re finally able to digest in full!
Formed in the Florida hardcore scene, Damage Done is known for their intense live shows. Their self-titled debut LP was released in 2017 through Patient Zero Records. Over the past few years, the band has steadily worked on writing and recording “Everything Good Is Gone.” The eleven-track record showcases raw, aggressive hardcore with a bleak outlook on life.
Damage Done recorded the album at War House Studios in Gainesville, FL, with John Howard, who has worked with bands like Yashira, Ecostrike, and Colonial Wound. His technical proficiency has resulted in a punishing and dynamic sound for the record. The artwork and layout for “Everything Good Is Gone” were created by Tommy Wilson, known for his work with bands like Infest, Siege, and Dropdead.
Speaking on the record, guitarist Evan Faulkner shared that the addition of Bill and Tony after the first release brought a new creative spark to the band, making the sound fresher and more dynamic. Although being spread across three different cities made the writing process interesting, the band took advantage of every minute they had together, resulting in an urgent and deliberate approach. Faulkner praised John Howard’s work on the record, stating that his technical proficiency can be heard in the tones achieved and the intensity of the mix. He believes this is the best sounding release they’ve been involved with.
