Time flies. It’s been already almost 2,5 years since the release of the latest full length offering from Polish dark hardcore / metal act GUANTANAMO PARTY PROGRAM, and the record still feels vibrant, fresh, and inspiring. Led by slowly burning, yet razor-sharp riffs and wise takes on multi-genre inventiveness, “III” surpassed expectations in many ways, so it’s all the more our pleasure to report that the band just unveiled a new reinterpretation of one of the songs from the album called [5:02]. Created by Michał Śliwa from Echoes of Yul, the track comes from the band’s latest cassette tape wooden box, containing their complete discography, released last year by Three Moons Records.
We took this chance to ask the band about their plans for 2020 and possible new recordings, which they are actually already plotting. Here’s what they had to say.
We’ve teamed up for good with Core-Poration Booking agency. A couple of our last year’s shows were already booked by them, but the true mutual test was our January tour with Dom Zły and O.D.R.A. To be honest, it was thoroughly a great success.
We were really hoping to be able to perform at the Into The Abyss Festival in Wrocław, but all these plans and our attempts to fulfil them went to hell because of the obvious reasons. At the moment the festival itself and many other shows and events are largely in question. Imposed restrictions hit hard the local promoters, clubs and cultural centers. We’re afraid that many of these places won’t survive this crisis.
Apart from that, we’ve started working on our new record which will be titled “IV”.
Roughly the half of the material is ready now and before the pandemic outbreak working on it was our priority. Unfortunately the way things went globally spoiled our plans. We haven’t rehearsed for a month and a half. We don’t know when we will be able to meet again and return to work on the rest of the album.
Our side-projects and bands: Paperplanes and Modernslave also came to a standstill, same as the whole world did. What’s worse, it may turn out to be the least of our worries if our lives for some reasons suffer because of what is happening in the world – be it health or our work.
For now we would like to invite you to have a listen to our track. Be healthy and take care one of another. We hope to see you soon at the concerts!
The original track comes from album III, released September 1, 2017:
