Hardcore band BLOODGUILT debut with “Straight Forward”, announce new EP on New Age Records

1 min read

Based out of California, Bloodguilt is making crushing music for oldheads and newcomers alike. With over thirty years in hardcore and alternative rock, Bloodguilt’s members have spent time playing in bands such as Taken, Stavesacre, Focused, Project 86, and Starflyer 59.

Today, Bloodguilt shares their debut single “Straight Forward” and announce a self-titled EP out this Spring on New Age Records. Self-recorded and then mixed by Beau Burchell (Saosin), the Bloodguilt EP is five direct, rapid and pissed off tracks.

BLOODGUILT

“Straight Forward” serves as the perfect introduction to the band as pulsating riffs pour into Ray Harkins’ passionate vocal delivery. Guitars and drums whirlwind into a striking breakdown, pulling influence from peers like Unbroken and Strife. You can stream “Straight Forward” HERE.

The lyrics comment on pressures of life, as the band share: “No matter how exciting people present their lives to be on social media or how ‘busy’ they are, there’s the constant battle between ‘doing enough’ and ‘not doing as much as you should.’ This is the expression of trying to be ‘in the moment’ but falling short.”

BLOODGUILT

Bloodguilt will play their first show in Los Angeles, CA on March 8th at The Echo supporting The Barbarians Of California. Tickets HERE.

Bloodguilt is Ray Harkins – Vocals, Dirk Lemmenes – Bass, Steve Dail – Guitar, Alex Albert – Drums, and Jeff Bellew – Guitar.
