Moscow behemoth post metallers NASKA, Saint Petersburg based atmospheric post black metallers PECHORA, and bleak crust hardcore band MINUS.MENSCH from Estonia have teamed up with Black Terror label for a massive, unnerving new split release that we’re stoked to give you in its entirety below! Both terrifying and entrancing, the viciousness of their biting hybrid shining through this release just where it counts most. Powerful to the last drop.
All three bands joined us to share their commentary for each of the venomous tracks.
NASKA – Pantheon I
“Our new single „Pantheon I” is a logical continuation of the “Ritual”. This story is about a human, who voluntarily desired to sacrifice himself to the Gods. He finds himself in the afterworld, where his faceless soul roaming through tremendous halls of the Pantheon. What we see, is an attempt to describe his metaphysical experience of living the afterlife.”
MINUS.MENSCH – Петля
“Noose” is about a complex of images and feelings of a man during an existential crisis. About the emotional roller coaster that some of us has to struggle with every day. About forcing yourself to get up and get shit done, even if you feel that the whole world is against you. How to find yourself a purpose every day, while your darkest thoughts are chasing you? “Noose” is a dialogue with your own demons that are asking you: “And if there is no purpose in life, maybe there is one in death?”
This is a new era for a band. New members, more experiments and a darker sound, who are focusing on quality and elaboration of new material.
PECHORA – Затмение (feat. Никита Балакин – Gorech)
“Eclipse” tells us about in between state of mind that draws a line between the physically manifested world and the inner one.
Have you heard of a theory that suicidal thoughts persevere when the body and mind of a beholder are exhausted beyond limits and a preliminary idea regarding ending one’s life ignites and accelerates in geometrical progression like incurable plague slowly forcing impoverished body to push a knife against his own chest and then in that precised moment of a collapse, the hidden veil that stood between the questioner and a question breaks in half, hence allowing a stream of the most delicate answers to poor onto a depleted entity that searched for them throughout his life yet couldn’t reach it.
Alas, the epiphany won’t last long as one is trying to conquer his other self that is, namely, dead.
The euphony as sweet as it sounds is turned into a cherished wine mixed with a snake’s poison leading to oblivion as he is trying to greedily devour every drop of revelation.
