Heavy death metallic beatdown hardcore mob I AM streaming new record in full!

1 min read

Life Through Torment, the violent debut album from Dallas-based death metal/hardcore outfit, I AM, is nearing its independent release in just over a week, and No Clean Singing magazine has undertaken the task of hosting the daunting album for an exclusive pre-release stream. Listen below. The band’s brutalizing “Life Through Torment” video is playing at this location.

The summary of the album’s bludgeoning ways descriptively delivered by the metal tacticians at No Clean Singing includes, “Speed isn’t the name of this game – it’s more mid-paced stomping and pile-driving than anything else – but I AM do frequently and quickly shift gears in their pacing, and they do hit bursts of red-eyed frenzy… If you’re in the mood to find some peace, some human warmth, and perhaps some faith in the decency of your fellow beings in a perilous time, Life Through Torment isn’t the refuge you’re looking for. But if you want to let out a building tumor of rage, or just revel in a savage metallic beatdown, give this a shot.”

Following a two-year void since the early 2015 release of their Memento Mori debut EP, I AM will inundate the masses with their maiden full-length, Life Through Torment. A brutalizing, by-the-throat album which consumes twenty-eight minutes through ten unrelenting tracks, Life Through Tormentwas recorded, produced, and mixed by Ryan Harvey at Red Oak Collective, mastered by Jacob Pouttu, and bears artwork by Grayson Altom and design by Benjamin Hoagland.

The band offers their new album as:
“No games, no bullshit, just straight in your face heavy metal. We wanted this to show who we are and what’s next. A direct reflection on each of our personal lives and what we see. This is Life Through Torment. We hope you enjoy.”
I AM will independently release Life Through Torment on CD and digital formats on February 10th; view merch bundles and more HERE.
A two-week tour in support of Life Through Torment with Bodysnatcher and Wicked World is being finalized for March, and a tour with Wicked World, Mercy Blow, and Mara is being booked for April. Stand by for new dates to be announced in the days ahead.
