Monster Energy conducted a short interview with Australia’s I KILLED THE PROM QUEEN.

I Killed

After being considered as one of the most influential hardcore bands to come out from Australia you decided to stop your activity three years ago. What´s the reason behind that choice and what got you back together last year?

Jona: It has actually been 5 years since we first went on hiatus back in 2007. it was at a time where we had all been introduced to full time international touring for the first time and had just done a couple of really long stints away from home. i think at one point we were gone from Australia for 4 whole months without a break. it took its toll on everyone and we all decided to take a break and focus on some other ideas and projects. after 2008´s say goodbye australian headline tour and a lot of support online from our fans we decided last year that it was time to reunited to write and record another album. we did another australian tour with our friends the amity affliction to celebrate this decision and now we´re about to head out on our european summer tour whilst working on the writing process from the road.

JJ: We all decided to go our separate ways for many reasons, the main one being that we couldnt find a frontman that fit in to the IKTPQ family. i think we always felt we never reached our full potential and the bands fan base continued to grow even with no touring or new releases, so when we got jamie to join as vocalist we new we had the right line up and it was time to get back at it.
