Western MA’s hardcore band MANIAC have signed to California punk label New Age Records. The band’s new releae “War & Insanity” will be available on 12” vinyl/cassette and cd from NEW AGE RECORDS in early 2019. Check out the massive title track below.

Maniac formed in Western Massachusetts in the summer of 2010. In 2015, they recorded their debut 7” EP “Funeral of the World” for Outlast Records. In the following years, Maniac toured the Northeast, Midwest, California, and played the annual This Is Hardcore festival in Philadelphia. After almost being a band for a decade, they released their debut full length album “War & Insanity” in the summer of 2018. 12 tracks of unrelenting hardcore, taking cues from an abundance of different musical styles, most specifically Cleveland, New York, and Japanese Hardcore. Swedish post metal behemoth CULT OF LUNA are orking on their 9th full-length. See some teasers at this location.

Gothenburg, Sweden’s power trio BLESSINGS will release their 2nd LP “Biskopskniven” on New Year’s Eve this year through Dålig Stämning. Consisting of seven tracks ranging from noise rock dirges to blissed out droney pieces, Biskopskniven builds upon and expands their already from their start singular and distinct sound.

For fans of: Breach, Unsane, Young Widows

Emotive punk trio JUDITH are streaming their amazing debut EP through lifeisafunnything label. Listen to “By The Hand Of A Female” below:

The label commented:

Take the punk-rock-charm of early Bikini Kill, mix it with the melodic pop-appeal of Sleater Kinney and then add some noisy dissonance ala Sonic Youth…voila!…now you got JUDITH!
JUDITH are three young girls from Strasbourg/France. It’s their first band and they played one show….and now they got a record out soon!

Fargo, North Dakota’s riot grrrl punk rockers GERM CIRCUS are streaming new EP called “Antiplan”.

Arizona based experimental, noisy and shoegazin’ post rockers HOLY FAWN ae streaming their new LP “Death Spells” on Holy Roar Records/Deathwish Inc..

HOLY FAWN describe themselves as four creatures making “loud, heavy, pretty music” which vaguely encompasses their sound. It’s a darker shade of shoegaze with elements of post rock’s engulfing wall of sound. They rely on strong lyrical imagery of nature along with atmospheric guitars reverberating in a swirl to create vast sonic landscapes that transports the listener to otherworldly realms; outside and within.

GRIMCITY, a crust & black punk/HC band from Budapest, Hungary has released its latest song and video entitled Wounded. The track is off the band’s latest EP, Vesper out early 2019. The video’s peculiarity that it’s been recorded at double speed (and then slowed back) and without a single cut following the path of the singer and the band through a special place which plays an important role in the band’s life. The song is about people’s vulnerability and how we relate and pay no real attention to each other. A kind of social criticism in our rushing and developing world.

Atmopsheric new wave / dark post punk act CAVE RAVER have unveiled their debut 12″ “Dark times and loose ends” through lifeisafunnything label.

Three guys from Hamburg doing six dark, melancholic songs. Call it Post-Punk, call it Wave or name it just Indie-Rock, this tracks are definitely a pleasure for fans of The Sound, Echo & The Bunnymen, Beach Fossils or Soft Kill.
