Italian hardcore pack EARTHFALL team up with Brazilian straight edge vegan veterans from CONFRONTO for a new benefit single

2 mins read

Italian hardcore veterans from EARTHFALL (members of Absence, As Humanity Fades, Tigershot and Try Fail Repeat) heave joined their ranks with Brazilian long running xVx metalcore legends CONFRONTO for a new benefit single, released today via Bound By Modern Age Records, Mark My Words Records and Diorama labels. All of the proceeds will be donated to the EBW Sanctuary, the Animal Protection Organization founded in 2012.

The Animal Protection Organization EbW was founded in 2012. After years of working for and with Animals abroad (especially stray dogs in Romania), an old farm was obtained (in 2019) and became the EbW Animal Sanctuary. The founder and one-man army Markus GΓ€rtner is also deeply rooted in the vegan straight edge hardcore scene.

EARTHFALL was born at the end of 2018 based in Sassari, strongly linked to the Italian hardcore edge metal tradition of the late 90s and early 2000s (Reprisal, Purification, Sentence, From The Dying Sky, Absence). “Our bassist Luca played in Absence (2000-2002), while other members come from previous projects, such as Tiger Shot, As Humanity Fades, Try Fail Repeat, and When Ashes Are Rising.” – comments the band.

“We immediately had the luck and the pleasure of receiving the attention of labels that gravitate around the European metal-hardcore scene, and we have managed to put out 3 releases with German label Bound By Modern Age first and London based Mark My Words Records. We have also published a reissue of our EP “Flag of Mourning” on cassette thanks to Diorama Records for the Asian market. The initial goal was to make as many friends as possible and for this reason our releases are full of featurings (Josh from ToKill, Pieter from Morda, Ivan from Straight Opposition, Greg from Trial, Mv from Browbeat).

Asked about their collaboration with Confronto, EARTHFALL expound: “For some years now, a friendship has been consolidated with Felipe, singer of Confronto and now Norte Cartel. We have exchanged our thoughts on social issues of our respective countries.”

“It was clear to us that Confronto is still very important to him so we convinced him to revive the β€œbeast” one more time for a good cause, a benefit song. It is a great honour for us as we have grown musically with the whole South American scene (Asunto, Confronto, Mostomalta, Nueva etica, Children Of Gaia, Point of No Return etc…).

Explaining the lyrical content behind the new track, Erthfall says that the new song is “about how much our society, from which animals cannot be excluded, is still the victim of a capitalist system that sees us always in competition, forced to choose the lesser evil, forced to obey a system that imposes more and more often a way of life based on exploitation of men by men, of animals by men.”

“Some time ago, through Tim (BBMA Records boss), we got to know the animal sanctuary of Markus (EbW-Lebenshof), and so knowing that he was experiencing some economic difficulties, we have decided that he could be the right addressee of our benefit.”

Looking into the future, the band is ready to roll and hit the stage later this year.

“For now we are finally setting foot on stages again after a pandemic that some of us have also experienced as an active part being engaged on different fronts in healtcare assistance. We have already scheduled some dates, the most interesting being perhaps the one with Sodom at the end of August at the Rock β€˜n’ Bol Metal Fest.”
